The Serious Incident Response Team are investigating allegations of domestic assault against a member of the Southwest Nova District RCMP.
On July 31, a complaint was filed with the Liverpool RCMP detachment from the member’s spouse, alleging they had been assaulted by the member. The Liverpool detachment then contacted SIRT, who took over the investigation and arrested the member.
The RCMP member was released from custody on conditions, and is set to attend provincial court in Bridgewater on September 18. At the time, no charges have been laid, and the investigation is ongoing.
