Highway 103 Reopened After Early Morning Crash

RCMP have reopened Highway 103 between exits 21 and 22 near Port Mouton to all traffic following a seven and a half hour closure.

The highway had been closed down early this morning due to a serious single vehicle collision shortly before 5 A.M.
RCMP shut the highway down to investigate the cause.

Corporal Jennifer Clarke says the Mounties appreciated everyone’s patience as investigators worked on site.

“However the evidence at the collision scene is very perishable. In order for us to have the analyst determine what happened we need to collect that evidence right after the collision occurred.”

Clarke says two people were involved, with one taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. They are still waiting for an update on the status of the second person involved.

She says no other details are currently available as to the cause of the accident.

The highway was reopened shortly after 12:30 P.M.
