A significant fundraiser for the IWK Children’s Hospital happens this weekend in Queens County.
This is the 14th year for the Log a Load for Kids Lob Ball Tournament.
Log a Load for Kids is an initiative of the Canadian Woodlands Forum, a Nova Scotia not-for-profit association that supports the forest industry in Canada.
A member of the organizing committee, Rod Badcock, says teams from the local area and forest industry compete enjoy a fun weekend of softball.
“We have a number of fundraisers associated with that including silent auctions, raffles and live auctions and ball players raise pledges in support of their participation in the tournament.”
Badcock says he expects the tournament will surpass $250,000 raised since its inception.
Games will be played Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m until 4 p.m at the Harmony Ball Fields in Caledonia.
