What do you do to cheer yourself up? I had a small setback today (gained 4 pounds at weigh-in) and it really got me down until I got home and tried some things that work to cheer me up. Yes, I raided the fridge and had all the things I am not supposed to have (carbs and sugar) until I was completely bloated.
No, I didn’t. But the thought did cross my mind.
First, I put on my inspiration song, Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down) by Chumbawumba, then as skies began to clear I took my dog Misty out in the backyard and we tossed the ball for awhile. Sunshine and fresh air can do wonders.
Next we came in the house, where everyone but me got a treat. I put on Season One Episode One of The Office (the Brit version with Ricky Gervais) and laughed out loud through the whole thing.
Finally, I re-evaluated everything I ate this past week, and came to the conclusion that the homemade Trail Mix I had made was probably not low enough in carbs and sugar (way too much dried fruit!) and have decided to cut that stuff out this next week.
