Our Athlete of the Week is 13-year-old Madison Norwood!
She has skated since age 4 and she works hard every time she is on the ice.
Madison trained this summer in Sherbrooke, Quebec and recently landed a double axel.
She lives in Hebbville but trains in Tantallon five times per week!
Madison has made many sacrifices through the past few years including missing birthday parties and special events for her love of skating.
She is also passionate about helping other kids learn to skate . She was nominated as P.A. of the year last year by Skate Canada for her leadership and spending several sessions per week giving back to the skating club and helping those new to Canskate.
Madison is quick to congratulate others for their hard work, but she does not always realize her own hard work and talent.
Way to go, Madison! As Athlete of the Week, she picked up $50 to Cleve’s Source for Sports in Bridgewater!
