Lumberjacks Bear Down For MHL Rivalry Match for First Place

The Lumberjacks will be in desperate search of a win tonight at the LCLC.

The MHL leading Yarmouth Mariners are in town, while it is always a heated match Jacks Head Coach, Kyle McAllister says his players don’t let that affect them.

“There are a few more fans for these games and we’ve had some recent history but I think most of that goes out the window at puck drop.”

He also hopes the Jacks will score early to relieve the tension in the building, as tonight is The Teddy Bear Toss.

“We hope we can score early and get those bears out on the ice and hopefully get some bears for kids around the community.”

The toss will take place whenever the Jacks score their first goal. The risk of bears staying in the rafters is relatively low as the Jacks have yet to be shutout all year.

The teddy bears donated will be part of the CKBW- Country 100.7 Toy Drive.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
