Magazine Names South Shore Eateries Among Province’s Best

The South Shore appears well-versed in the food it offers. A magazine in Halifax has named 11 South Shore destinations as part of its Nova Scotia’s Best 25 Local Eateries. The list includes Elliotts Dining Room at White Point Beach Resort, Fleur de Sel in Lunenburg and the Kiwi Cafe in Chester. Kiwi Cafe owner, Lynda Flinn, says it’s a special honour. She says, “I think it’s a great recognition of all the hard work that we put in here and just sort of proves that what we’re doing is what people want.” Flinn says the cafe has had good reviews before, but nothing like this. Also named are the Lahave Bakery, the Quarterdeck in Summerville Centre, Lincoln Street Food in Lunenburg, The Grand Banker in Lunenburg, Mateus Bistro in Mahone Bay, Trellis Cafe in Hubbards along with Rime and the Salt Shaker Deli, both of Lunenburg.
