It takes a huge load of pricey spin doctors to make the Harper Government look good! The Canadian Taxpayers Federation says thousands of regular civil servants have been laid off in recent years to cut costs. However, Gregory Thomas of the CTF says all the loyal tory advisers who head-off the media have actually increased in number. He says: “Taxpayers are paying for 3,325 unelected spin doctors at a cost of $263-million. Thats pretty close to what we pay to run the House of Commons and all the MP’s and all the staff.” Thomas says Canadians shouldn’t have to run a gauntlet of spin doctors to get answers from the feds. He says they should be eliminated and regular civil servants used to answer the phones, the questions, the emails and seek information for Canadians.
