Things are about to get safer on some busy streets in Bridgewater. The town is changing signs at the intersections of Dominion Street and Queen Street as well as Empire Street and Queen Street. They will be turning into four-way stops. There are two schools as well as a daycare in the area. Mayor David Walker says safety is top priority. He says, “Young people aren’t always as vigilant in watching what’s going on as perhaps they should be and sometimes drivers aren’t, so I think you want to put in place the protection that is there for the students, allow traffic to move but move in a safe fashion.” A recent traffic survey suggested the additional stop signs. They will be installed this month.
