Lunenburg’s Trails and Parks Closed

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg is shutting down all municipal parks and any municipal trails contained in those parks.

Provincial Rail Trails remain open as will the Arthur Young Trail which is not in a municipal or provincial park (which were shutdown Sunday).

“I strongly encourage people to practice physical distancing, by keeping at least six feet away from people they do not reside with,” said Mayor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson. “Meeting friends to walk closely together is discouraged, please walk only with people you reside with. We all need to work together to flatten the curve, and keep everyone safe.”

Moves like this are being seen more and more across the country as municipal governments try their best to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Below is a list of the municipal parks and trails that have been closed by the Municipality.
