It appears the Region of Queens is close to confirming another major event.
Council has authorized staff to approve a contract for a concert next year at Queens Place Emera Centre.
It has not been revealed who would be performing.
Mayor David Dagley says they are in the final stages.
“We have to provide direction that we’re willing to accept the financial implications going forward and that staff is empowered to work to complete that negotiated contract.”
Queens Place Emera Centre has hosted concerts the last two years.
Blue Rodeo played to 94 percent capacity in 2015 while the Beach Boys sold out this year in 100 minutes.
Dagley says they are success stories and he is looking forward to adding another chapter.
