ABCO Industries in Lunenburg are the latest local business to transition into making products needed in the fight against COVID-19

In a Facebook post they announced that they recently gained the ability to produce face shields. The company says making and assembling a mask takes around seven minutes in total, however, they say production is limited due to a shortage of raw materials used in the production.

The Facebook post also said that the company was working on another project.

While still in the early stages of planning they created a prototype plastic box that sits over a patient while lying down. The box then has armholes that allow medical personnel to provide treatment with an extra layer of protection.

They say that the boxes have not been approved for hospital use but the Nova Scotia Health Authority will be taking the box and showing it to other health departments to see if their is any interest.
