Today was supposed to be “Wear Your Pajamas To Work Day”. A lot of people do, although I don’t actually know any of them. It’s never been a big thing around here, but it could be.
The day was supposedly started as a way to have a bit of fun after people in the United States stayed up late on April 15 doing their taxes. At least, that was the excuse. But showing up for work in your pj’s simply just sounds like fun.
Until this year.
With so many people working from home, getting dressed for work may sound like more of a treat. Wearing pajamas to work is something people have been doing for a few weeks now. Many of them seem to be getting a bit tired of it. And your co-workers, also known as the dog and the cat, probably don’t want to play along. And stuffing a cat into pajamas seems like a really good way to get scratched.
The kids? They’ll likely go along with it.
But really, this could be one more thing best put off until next year. When you need an excuse to get out of your pajamas, wearing your pajamas just doesn’t seem very… special.
Maybe we should have a day to dress in formal wear?
