Canada On Road To Social, Economic Recovery

Around 43 per-cent of those diagnosed with COVID-19 here in Canada have since recovered.

That’s from Canada’s top doctor, Theresa Tam, who says that despite the good news the death toll continues to rise.

“There are now 61,159 confirmed cases, including 3,915 deaths,” says Doctor Tam, “To date, labs across Canada have tested over 940,000 people.”

She explains that those numbers mean less than ten per-cent of all Canadians tested have the novel coronavirus.

“Currently over 26,000, or around 43 per-cent, of all confirmed cases in Canada have now recovered from COVID-19 and we wish them good health.”

The country’s Chief Public Health Officer wrapped up her daily press conference Tuesday by talking about the increased importance of Hand Hygiene Day, which takes place annually on May 5th.
