Long Weekend Plans

Okay, two things, right off the start.

One, the picture on the blog here is not my fish. I wish it was my fish, but it’s a stock picture. If I ever catch a fish that nice, you will know.

Second, my life really hasn’t changed that much over the past couple months. Which in some ways is pretty sad. I basically keep to myself, walk the dog and work. I have gotten out fishing once and hope to over the coming days. Maybe even catch something that looks like the one in the picture.

But I know the lives of others have undergone big changes. The long weekend in May would generally mean getting outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, boating, visiting others at a cottage somewhere. This year, while we might be able to do some of that, it will be a scaled down version.

Hopefully, there will be ways everyone can find to still enjoy what is generally considered the kickoff to summer. But I’m sure that will involve some changes to plans.

And by the way, just to let you know, as I was driving in this morning along the 103 near Hebb’s Lake, I heard something hitting my windshield. Rain? Could that be rain? I couldn’t see rain. I saw splattered bugs. Little tiny splattered bugs. The blackflies are out, just in time for the long weekend.

And their plans haven’t changed. So you may want to include them in yours.
