Things are slowly returning to normal and hospital parking fees are no exception.
Starting June 1 normal parking operations and fees will resume at all NSHA sites.
The decision to suspend fees was made on March 20 as a way to show support for healthcare staff who would be working under very stressful conditions during the pandemic, said Elliott Brendan, Media Relations, NSHA.
“We knew that many services in our hospitals were being suspended which meant that the demand for parking services was going to be reduced. We thought that it was a great opportunity to give back to our workers. If we could remove even a small stressor along the way than we were interested in doing that,” he said.
Money raised from parking fees-over $400,000 in the South Shore region alone during 2019-2020-goes towards services and equipment.
