Lunenburg County Man Facing Possession, Firearms Charges

A Lunenburg County man is heading to court for numerous charges including firearms offences following incidents in the Chester Grant and Chester Basin areas.

On May 25th, Lunenburg District RCMP arrested 24-year-old Troy Curtis Comeau-Martell of Chester after receiving a shots fired complaint.

The complaint included a description of a vehicle involved as well as its licence plate, and upon visiting the home of the registered vehicle owner, police found an opened gun case with a gun inside, as well as illegal prescription pills and ammunition.

Police say Comeau-Martell was also in breach of a number of court-ordered conditions.

He was charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance,
  • Possession of a Weapon for A Dangerous Purpose,
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized,
  • Careless Use of a Firearm,
  • Breach of Conditions,
  • Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited

He is expected to attend Truro Provincial Court on June 9 to deal with the current charges, as well as past, outstanding charges.
