The Scariest Place Right Now

Do you avoid public washrooms whenever possible? I do.

Here at the radio station we share our washrooms with another small business on the top floor of the post office. It’s a nice washroom. 2 cubicles, 2 urinals, 2 sinks although we have signs up that only one at a time can be used because of social distancing.

Other people haven’t been an issue until this week when most of our staff came back to work. Now, when I open the door and realize the place is partially occupied I turn around and come back later.

Which got me to thinking, if I’m that nervous about using the washroom at my place of work, how do people feel about washrooms at the big box stores or the shopping malls? I know I’d have to be desperate to use them. I just think it makes us too close to each other and I picture invisible coronavirus on every surface.

So, how do you feel about a trip to the public washroom?
