A 35-year-old man is on the line for assault and impaired driving charges.
On June 11, near midnight, Lunenburg District RCMP arrested a 35-year-old man after he drove his car off the road.
The suspect had earlier fled from the scene of an assault, where he allegedly fired off rounds from a firearm inside a home in the Windsor Rd. community.
Police say they did not find a weapon in the man’s car, but did find a shotgun not far from the accident scene with help from the K-9 Unit.
The Windsor Rd. man is facing charges for assault and two for impaired driving, and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on June 24.
He is expected to receive firearms offence charges as the investigation continues.
