Gotta Love A Parade

I wasn’t expecting a Canada Day parade, but it still happened. Sure… there were no marching bands or people in little cars driving in circles, but it was still a parade.

For a few years now, a group of people have decorated their pontoon boats and other floating craft and had a small procession through parts of Ponhook Lake. As I say, I was not expecting it to happen this year, but when you think of it, why not? Everyone was on their own boat, so properly social distanced. You really can’t get too close without possible issues.

But it was a nice surprise to see people get together, flying Canadian flags and saluting the country’s birthday. Unfortunately, I did not have a camera handy so the picture is from a previous year. But I think this year’s parade had seventeen pontoon boats, eleven various other boats and two personal water craft.

Not bad for a year like this one.

And… from a couple people on shore, it brought a smile to our faces.
