MODL Office Re-opens After Four Month Closure Due To Pandemic

MODL are the latest to open their office since closing due to COVID-19.

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg reopened their office earlier this week, and are now running under normal summer hours.

Some things, however, are running a bit different since closing.

“We have closed our back entrance which was typically used by people registering for recreation programs and those seeking building permits,” said MODL communications officer Sarah Kucharski.

“That was our non-accessible door anyway, there was no ramp, only stairs. So we just have the front door open, and all services are provided by that front desk.”

Kucharski said it did take a bit of time to plan out how they would re-open safely.

“If you’ve been to our office, you know it is really quite small,” she said.

“Most people are doubled up in offices and cubicle spaces, so we had to figure out how we could continue to operate the front desk services but without the full team compliment in the back.”

Currently, they are limiting the number of people they can assist inside at once, and many of their staff are still working from home to reduce the amount of people in office.

MODL offices are open from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, and contact information can be found here.
