Is This Cheating?

Does anyone else feel this way? I feel guilty if I hit the drive through and get a burger, even when my wife Karen isn’t home. This currently isn’t a problem since I have been off the junk food for a few weeks now in an effort to get my weight under control. But before that I would feel guilty when I was out shopping and it was lunchtime, so I’d grab a burger and fries and eat it on the way home.

Then I’d change my clothes, brush my teeth, have a shower and dispose of the wrappers at the bottom on the garbage can.

My wife would come home and at some point in the evening suggest that I had picked up a burger somewhere. She’s the Columbo of the kitchen! I don’t know if she can smell the burger scent through my pores, my breath or she searches the garbage can every evening but I never get away with it.

She claims she doesn’t care that I’m grabbing a burger from time to time, so why do I feel like I’m cheating on her when I do?

So is this cheating? If you find out your spouse had a burger without you are you a little bit peeved?
