The hurricane folks at the NOAA just upped their hurricane forecast for this season, predicting a way above average 19 to 25 named storms — seven to 11 expected to become hurricanes and three to six of those to become major hurricanes with winds of at least 175 km/h.
However, it’s only the ones that make landfall that we worry about.
Do you prep for hurricanes? I’ll be honest, I do prep a little but have yet to take the leap to buying a generator.
Sure, I put in big jugs of water , have lots of batteries and a few tanks of propane.
The last big power outage, we lost the contents of our freezer and never filled it up again. I’m not sure I need a generator with an empty freezer.
My prized prep item is an old fashioned stainless steel coffee percolator. It’s a life-saver!
Are you prepared for hurricane season?
