Town of Lunenburg Shifts to E-Voting for Municipal Election

Voters in Lunenburg will have to hop on the E-Voting boat for this fall’s municipal elections.

Town council held their second and final reading of the Alternative Voting By-law during their last meeting to shift from the standard paper ballot voting to electronic voting only.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, voting will only be done via phone or computer, allowing voters to stay home.

E-voting will be available during advance and normal voting periods, which begin on Thursday, October 8.

Current mayor Rachel Bailey announced earlier this year she would not be re-offering for the position. At the time of reporting, we were unable to confirm if anyone has officially announced their interest in the position.
