Annapolis County Woman Clocked Going 61km Per Hour Over Limit

Lunenburg County RCMP says a 25-year-old woman from Annapolis County has been charged with stunting under the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act after she was caught going 61 kilometers per hour over the limit.

The incident took place along Highway 10 just after noon on August 14 in New Germany, where an officer clocked her going 141 kilometers per hour in an 80 kilometer per hour zone.

Anyone caught going 50 kilometers per hour over the speed limit is automatically charged with stunting which carries a $2,442 fine and a six-point penalty.

Nova Scotia RCMP are using this as a reminder to tell people to slow down as speed can be attributed as one of the main factors leading to fatal collisions in the province.
