Navigating our way through our school years was difficult. Some teachers encouraged you to call them by their first names while others would give you a detention for using their first name.
Some of us were sent home for defending ourselves from other students, while in other cases only the instigator was punished.
Laughing at the wrong time in the wrong class could get you in loads of trouble with the teacher.
Generally, I kept a low profile and rarely got in trouble except for this one time that we were bored and in an unused classroom where they kept the course books that were old and being thrown out. Somehow a group of us had the great idea to throw paper balls at each other and piled the books on some desks to hide behind. That got us suspended by the vice principal for about an hour until we were able to go above him and meet with the principal.
What got you in trouble when you went to school? Skipping classes? Disrespecting teachers? A smart mouth or a quick fist? The statute of limitations is over so you can diss on yourself now.
