Two teenage girls are learning a harsh lesson that guns shouldn’t be brought to school.
RCMP have charged a pair of 14-year-olds after bringing a replica hand gun to Forest Heights Community School on February 26.
Police have seized the air-soft gun and charged both girls with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
RCMP District Commander Jean-Guy Richard says it’s a safety concern.
He says, “It’s important that these replica firearms don’t end up in the school. Certainly, it’s a safety concern for police, mainly because it’s just so hard to tell the difference between these replica firearms and the real thing.”
Richard says the gun looks and feels real but fires a plastic bullet.
The girls will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on April 8th.
