It is one of those things about the past few months that is a bit of a head scratcher.
There were a lot of unexpected things in the first part of this year and a few more as the year has gone on. The run on toilet paper that no one could quite figure out. The great shortage of yeast and flour as people suddenly started to bake. Even the shortage of Mason jars.
A lot of it can be traced back to the fact that we suddenly had time on our hands and were looking for things to do. Perfectly understandable, given the circumstances.
Even the fact that guitar sales had gone through the roof.
A couple years ago, guitar sales were down. People weren`t playing guitar as much. Even major manufacturers were having problems staying in business.
This year, guitars are back. Sales have gone way up as people spend their spare time trying to figure out how to play a few tunes.
No one expected guitar sales to go up, but it certainly is interesting how we have chosen to spend our spare time when we suddenly had time to spare.
Since I really like things like music and sour dough bread, I think this is a good thing. And it bodes well for future camp fires.
