Lunenburg RCMP seeking Identity of Garbage Bag Wearing Robbery Suspect

A garbage bag bandit is on the loose in Lunenburg, and police are asking for the public’s assistance.

Lunenburg District RCMP said a man had entered a store on Victoria Road in Lunenburg around 1:11 this morning, brandishing a knife.

The man demanded the clerk give him cigarettes and piled multiple cartons into a garbage bag before fleeing on foot.

Police say the man appeared to be Caucasian, was wearing a black garbage bag over his clothes which were also dark, a ball cap and hood over his head and had a mask on.

He was also wearing wire-framed circular glasses and was carrying a knife when he fled.

RCMP is asking anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to contact the Lunenburg District dispatch or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
