Charity Auction Set Up For South Shore Paramedic Recovering From Car Crash

The Facebook page Silent Auction to Support Brooke was set up last week and has since had dozens of items offered by individuals and businesses looking to support a paramedic in need.

Brooke Rhuland who works as a casual paramedic with the EHS was badly injured in a car crash on Highway 3 earlier this month and is now on her path to recovery which promises to be an expensive one.

In order to support some of her costs, her friends have set up an online silent auction where people can post the item up for auction and then bid on it in the comments section.

As a casual worker for the EHS Rhuland was not eligible for health care so she would have had to cover the costs of travel to medical appointments and her physiotherapy by herself.

The bidding is set to open this Sunday and will run until October 18.

You can find out more information on Rhuland and take a look at the auction by visiting the associated Facebook page.
