It’s the lead up to Hallowe’en and all the streaming services have lots of spooky, scary movies to watch. Whether you are watching one by yourself or with the family, I have a few tips from watching a lot of scary movies over the years.
If something is chasing you, DO NOT LOOK BACK. You will trip and fall and whatever monstrosity will get you. If your partner falls, leave them. If you go back to help them one or both of you will die.
If you’re a good looking teen or in your early twenties, do not make out with your partner. That’s when they get you. Another good tip for the women is to wear an old ratty bra and granny panties because if you’ve got a nice new matching set of underwear you are a target of whatever evil thing is out there.
Never, ever ever go to the basement. Whether it’s to check the electric breaker or the boiler or investigate a noise, nothing good has ever come from going down into the basement. Same applies to the attic. Or the barn.
If you are alone in the house, other basic rules include – Don’t answer the phone. Don’t repeat any name 3 times. Don’t fall asleep. And turn on some lights!
And, if a voice says “Get out”, take the advice. Just don’t expect the car to start.
If you’ve got scary movie tips, I’d love to hear them. Post them on our Facebook page!
