The Government has made an investment to ensure Nova Scotian’s have access to healthy food.
The province has invested more than $134,000 to the Community Food Literacy and Access Fund, to further improve access to affordable and nutritious food while building food literacy.
So far this year the fund is supporting 39 programs including The New Ross Family Resource Centre’s, which is receiving $5,000 for it’s “New Ross Food Box Program,”
In a release, Communities, Culture and Heritage Minister Suzanne Lohnes-Croft says “We are proud to help community organizations in their efforts to increase food security across the province. It is essential for everyone to have good nutrition and healthy eating habits.”
Other community organizations will receive funding for programs focused on food access, meal planning, food education, budgeting skills, and community garden building.
