We’re starting to think seriously about what happens at Christmas. With spikes happening, there could be further restrictions, but even now they are recommending no more sticking to groups of ten. No more. Just ten.
So now we’re trying to figure out how to put limits on family gatherings.
There are ways. Drawing lots to see who stays home and who doesn’t. Making it merit based like who gives the best presents, or maybe even doing dinner potluck style and basing it on who cooks the best dishes.
None of it seems fair. But since we, for the most part, like our family members, we really would like to have them around for future Christmases. So there could be some sacrifices to make.
It won’t be easy, but I’m sure there are ways to figure it out. Yes, there could be some short term pain. But there are ways. I’m starting to think a may be willing to take one for the team… provided they make sure that plenty of all my favourite foods get sent my way.
I guess we’ll know as the time gets closer what we may or may not be able to do. But I guess it could be less about making sacrifices and more like let’s make a deal. Enough dessert could persuade me to stay home. Just sayin’.
