Dedicated COVID-19 units for nursing home residents are being put into hospitals and long-term care homes in the province.
The new Regional Care Units will be at six sites:
– Ocean View Continuing Care Centre, Dartmouth
– Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro
– Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney
– St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish
– Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville
– Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth
Department of Health and Wellness officials say the units will employ dedicated staff and offer long-term care for patients suffering from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, officials have announced one new case of COVID-19 in the Central Zone is under investigation.
Following a pair of recoveries, the provincial total of active infections has dropped to 23.
