A pop-up COVID-19 testing site is coming to Bridgewater this weekend and Public Health are looking for volunteers.
Nova Scotia Health are looking for members of the public to assist with greeting, reception, patient flow management and other tasks for a testing clinic this Saturday and Sunday.
Angela Henhoeffer, Lunenburg County Emergency Management Coordinator said almost anyone can volunteer.
“They don’t need to be medical professionals, anyone can really do the roles needed,” she said.
“They provide all the training and mentoring, all the PPE required, as well they are trained for the proper use of the PPE.”
Henhoeffer said the clinic is designated for residents of Lunenburg County, as other counties will be hosting their own clinics as well in the future.
She also stressed the clinic is not for those who have been told to get tested by Public Health.
The clinic will be held from 1-6 pm Saturday and Sunday at the Bridgewater Cineplex, and those interested in volunteering can email emo@modl.ca for more info.
Those eligible for testing at the pop up site include:
- asymptomatic individuals (16+)
- individuals without symptoms
- people who haven’t visited a potential exposure site identified by public health
- those not a close contact of a person with COVID-19
- someone who hasn’t left the Atlantic Bubble in the last 14 days.
