Do you remember what car you drove for your driver’s license test?
I drove two different cars . Because I failed the first time. It was totally expected. Where I grew up the local examiner’s office was known to always fail high schoolers on their first try. There were only two driving examiners in the office and they both subscribed to the theory that we needed to fail the first one to take driving seriously.
The first time was a monstrous Ford Country Station Wagon. While waiting a few weeks to take the test again, my father bought an even bigger highway boat – A Mercury Marquis that was loaded. The engine was so big that you needed binoculars to see to the end of the hood. Well, maybe not that big. But once I got my license I didn’t ask to drive the family car very often because it was a couple of bucks in gas just to go to the corner store. (I’m sure that was the reason Dad bought the biggest car he could find)
To this day I do not enjoy driving big vehicles. The smaller the better I say.
