A weekend long Queens County Festival has been put on hold for the second consecutive year.
After a meeting between members of the Privateer Days Commission Board, a unanimous decision was made to cancel the 2021 festival.
According to a post on the Privateer Days facebook page, the meeting’s discussion revolved around COVID-19, gathering limits, ability to social distance, and most importantly safety.
The board says they felt that due to the uncertainty and inability to guarantee the safety of both participants and spectators, cancelling the event is the right decision.
They say while it is disappointing, they look forward to planning for 2022.
