Liverpool Privateers Strong Effort Cut Short As NSJHL Cancels Season

Tough news for fans and players of the Liverpool Privateers of the Nova Scotia Junior B Hockey League.

The league is cancelling the remainder of the season due to the uncertainty of the next few weeks amid the latest surge of COVID-19 cases.

Further restrictions were imposed limiting competitive sports in restricted areas such as H-R-M on Friday.

The league stated they feel strongly for their overage retiring junior players in a social media post. The cancelled season means they will lose their final year of junior hockey eligibility.

The Privateers were nine and three on the season and tied for first in the Fred Fox Division with the Sackville Blazers.

They had 51goals for and 36 against.
