The Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) are appealing for help from the public as they continue their investigation into a stabbing that took place on the evening of Tuesday, March 2.
BPS received a call reporting an injured man near Old Bridge Street at 4:20 p.m., shortly after they located a man in a nearby business who had sustained what investigators believe to be knife wound.
The man was taken to hospital and later released. Police say he was unwilling to cooperate with their investigation and as a result, they are still unsure of occurred.
Deputy Chief Danny MacPhee said Wednesday that police had already received some help from nearby businesses.
“We’ve received a fair amount of video surveillance from businesses in the area and we are now working to analyze it,” MacPhee.
MacPhee adds based on the time and general location of the incident police believe there may have been witnesses and they are now asking that anyone with information contact them or Nova Scotia Crimestoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
Police also believe Tuesday’s stabbing to be an isolated incident.
