Patty Culbert Withdrawals From Lunenburg West Liberal Nomination Race

At the start of the day the Liberal nomination in the riding of Lunenburg West was set to be contested by at least two candidates, but by the afternoon it featured a surprise withdrawal.

Jennifer Naugler announced her intent to run Wednesday night on Facebook and at that point, she was the second candidate after Patty Culbert to declare.

Culburt made her intentions known on Monday but after Naugler entered the race, she bowed out.

In a Facebook video, Culbert explained that based on her personal and professional experiences with contested elections she has decided to halt her campaign.

In her video, she goes on to explain that Naugler is a great candidate in her opinion and she encouraged people to support her campaign.

With her withdrawal, Naugler is now in the race uncontested but there is still plenty of time for other candidates to declare.

Incumbent Mark Furey announced earlier this year he will not be reoffering in the next election but he intends to continue in his role until one is called.
