Have any irrational fears? I have a lot of fears but most I deal with. I’m not crazy about snakes and spiders but I can work around them when I’m doing yardwork or home fix it jobs.
Wildlife like bears? I just avoid them.
But I have one irrational fear that makes no sense to me. I have a fear of “some” bridges. In the city I have always been nervous about driving across either one of the harbour bridges.
In Bridgewater, I open my window when driving across the Old Bridge so I can escape from the car if the bridge collapses. I think nothing of driving the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Highway bridges don’t bother me except for one – where the 103 crosses the Lahave. The rest of the bridges on the old number 3 and the 103 don’t faze me at all. I don’t even give them a second thought.
To this day I haven’t figured out what is different about those bridges that triggers my irrational fear.
