Laundry Woes

It happened again this morning , as it does every week. I had to make a naked trip to the living room to pick through the clean laundry (sometimes folded, usually unfolded) to find that shirt or item of clothing I want to wear to work.

Does anyone have any tips to complete the laundry in one day? I’m talking wash, dry, fold and put away. All in one day. It’s never happened in this house.

Sure, because of the chance of mildew the clothes get washed and dried in the same day. Somehow they make it to the couch where eventually they get folded and placed in the appropriate piles.

But they never get put away in the drawers and closets until at least the next day.

Where it’s just my wife and I, our laundry loads are fairly small. We can do all the laundry on one day usually , but sometimes there are two loads.

I wonder if doing smaller loads throughout the week is the way to go? My frugal side hates the idea of running the dryer twice, even if it’s for shorter times.

And doing smaller loads simply means I’ll be making more than one naked trip to the living room every week.

Do you do all the laundry in one day – from wash to put away? What is your secret?
