NS And NB Colleges Working Together On Training Outside Their Borders

Community colleges in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia have announced a new partnership.

NSCC and NBCC have agreed to work together to provide training for organizations outside the provinces’ borders.

The colleges will work to promote these training opportunities to groups such as Correctional Services Canada, First Nations and companies in the energy sector.

Mike Calloway is with NSCC and he says the alliance will be valuable for both schools.

“These particular topic areas are areas that we’re going to look at strategically working together to maximize and leverage our resources for the betterment of our external stakeholders.”

Calloway says the training colleges provide can be an economy builder.

“You know, how do we create more productive industry sectors – small and medium size enterprise companies? You do that through people.”

The schools will work on the project for one year with the possibility to renew the arrangement in November 2017.
