What Do We Call Ourselves? (To Get A Jeopardy Question)

This week on the May 5th broadcast of Jeopardy the question was “A Haligonian isn’t a Star Wars TV character, it’s a native of this capital of a Canadian province.” And they got it right!

It seems we are sadly behind in coming up with a catchy name for residents of some of our fair towns and villages. “Resident of Bridgewater” just doesn’t have any pizzazz.

Bridgewater-ite? Bridgewater-ian? Lunenburg has Lunenburger. Woods Harbour has Cockawitters.

The Beatles from the original Liverpool in England were called Liverpudlians, though I have never heard that term for Queens county.

Is someone from Mahone Bay a Mahone Bay-er?

What should we call residents of your community so we someday get some fame on Jeopardy?
