Three municipal units are squaring off in a friendly competition to collect more food donations than the other.
The Municipality of Chester, Municipality of Lunenburg and Town of Bridgewater are gathering non-perishable items to give to local food banks.
Bridgewater Mayor David Mitchell says more and more people are using food banks in Nova Scotia than ever before.
“Here is an opportunity and a challenge makes it fun. It’s a win-win anyway so it’s on.”
Each municipal unit is collecting food donations until December 16.
People can drop off non-perishables at the MODL or MODC administration offices or town hall in Bridgewater.
