Members of the Blockhouse and District Fire Department are mourning the loss of one of their own.
According to a post on the departments Facebook page, Deputy Chief John Walters passed away on Saturday.
The post describes him as an incredible part the fire department as a deputy, brother, mentor and friend who volunteered his time helping others when they needed it the most.
Walters was just 43 years old.
The fire department is holding a fundraiser in memory of Walters to support his wife and three children.
