The O’Regan’s Subaru Western Hurricanes have been eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Esso Cup. Lawson Cook scored the only goal for the Liverpool-based major bantam hockey team as they lost 2-1 in overtime to the Moncton Hawks.
The Charlie’s Pizza South Shore Mustangs lost 5-3 to the Weeks Major Midgets. Ryan O’Toole scored twice while Keigan Casey added the other goal for the Mustangs, who host Halifax at 1 p.m this afternoon at the Clearwater Seafood Arena in Bridgewater.
The South Shore Junior ‘A’ Lumberjacks fell 5-1 to the Valley Wildcats. Samuel Cyr-Ledoux had the lone goal for the ‘Jacks, who have lost three straight.
