Woman has ‘lots of stitches” after C.B. shark attack

A woman in her 20s is recovering in hospital after a shark attack in waters off the coast in Cape Breton.

A family member posted an update on Facebook letting people know the woman is ‘doing fine’ after her encounter with a shark.

Wayne Boudreau wrote in his post his granddaughter has “big smiles, lots of stitches”.

He tagged Taylor Boudreau-Deveaux in his post and attached a photo of her in hospital.

RCMP were called around 5 p.m. on Friday evening.

Witnesses report she was attacked by a shark and a blackish fin was spotted in the water.

Boudreau-Deveaux was airlifted to hospital for treatment.

According to her Facebook page, she is a native of Cheticamp.
