I rarely buy lottery tickets – maybe once or twice a year on impulse. But I’m part of a very small lottery pool at work that I never think about.
What I do think about is what I would do if I won a big lottery prize – over a million.
I like to think that I’d keep it a secret and only tell immediate family.
And I’d be in no rush to cash in the ticket. Why? Because part of the terms of the lottery ticket prize is that your name and face become public knowledge.
I’d have to change my phone number for sure and probably my email as well.
Quit my job and sell the house would be on the list.
A bunch of boring meetings with a financial advisor.
But, really, I wouldn’t be able to keep it a secret. I’d blurt it out the first day.
Gee, I hope I never win.
Would you be able to keep it a secret?
