There’s a certain comfort from having specific meals on regular days of the week. Although it got started in the bars, Taco Tuesday is a real thing now and many people like to have tacos on Tuesdays at home.
Because of a very old advertising campaign in Boston, many of us in the Northeast like to have pasta on Wednesdays.
Fridays tended to be meatless because of some rules in the Catholic faith, so it was fish on Fridays. For many other folks Friday night is Pizza Night.
Again, religion was the reason for Baked Beans and Brown Bread on Saturday nights, because you weren’t supposed to cook between sundown Saturday night and Sunday, so all day Saturday a pot of beans was cooking on the stove.
Growing up, the only time we ever had a roast beef dinner was on Sundays.
